All of us walk around this planet, not bothering to open our eyes and see the spiders crawling around right underneath our noses.
We trust people who wear three masks at the same time, and sometimes, we even love them - making excuses whenever one of those gorgeous porcelain masks slips, revealing a face with blank eyes and twisted, evil smiles. We are fooled by the beautiful paintings and engravings on those masks. Captivated by the exquisite attention to detail. Enthralled by the seemingly beautiful eyes that watch us from behind those tiny slits.
The sad truth is that the shine in those eyes is not something that should be admired. It's the reflection of the webs that are being spun in front of our faces. Surrounding us; wrapping us in filthy cobwebs of lies and deceit - and those beautiful black eyes that you see and love? Those are the spiders.
We try. We try hard to push past the hazy effects of the spider's venomous bite - but sometimes, it's just impossible. The poison is already coursing through our veins, contaminating everything pure in our bodies, blinding us to what's really in front of us.
In reality, we all have our own personal Black Widows - people who lie to our faces, manipulate us and play games with our heads; people who use us and then chew us up when they no longer have any reason to keep us around.
But somewhere deep down inside, I guess all of us have the will power to finally tear our gazes away from those beautiful, bejeweled masks; to see that those tiny black orbs that have captivated us for so long are not what they appear to be. When this happens, of course, the spiders find themselves in trouble. The minute they sense danger, they become flustered. They drop their masks and scuttle all over the place, spinning more and more webs of unorganized lies as they try to escape detection.
And before you know it, the pretense becomes too much for the spiders to handle. They find themselves trapped in their own webs, struggling to break free of everything they brought down on themselves. In the end, all their lies come back to haunt them - to do to them, what they did to others. What goes around, comes around. Karma deals with you, even if no one else will.
Beware of spinning tangles webs. You're the one who gets suffocated in the end.
